A cause for optimism – Scotland here we come! With the prospect of a successful Covid-19 vaccine within our grasp we have reason to be optimistic that our National Weekend, planned for July, will be going ahead. It will be quite a haul for many of us to get to Kirkcubrightshire, but the venue should be great for many of our Northern members who in the past found a long trek down south too much. So, don’t delay, get your attendance forms in now. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Scotland for a brilliant weekend organised by Ronnie Johnston, strongly supported by Andrew and Lesley Turney.

Kirkcudbright is a fascinating and genuinely pretty Scottish town which has been a magnet for artists since Victorian times. Quaint houses and quirky shops in pastel colours vie for attention along its broad streets. Buildings like the Tolbooth, the Old Jail, Broughton House and MacLellan Castle add still further to the overall impression.
All you’d need for the complete effect would be a working harbour well stocked with boats: Oh wait! There’s one of these as well!
